During the 1990s when attention was on Death Row Records and the East Coast, Atlanta was quietly laying down their foundation for a global takeover of southern American music we witnessed throughout the 2000s to present. VH1’s Roc Docs recently released their latest documentary, ATL: The Untold Story of Atlanta’s Rise in the Rap Game. The Ludacris-produced documentary investigates how the city became the forefront of hip-hop.
With appearances from, T.I., Usher, Lil Jon, Jermaine Dupri and Future among others, the cities historic story of segregation is also detailed – which happened to be similar to their presence initially in the rap game.
